Jimmy began training in Martial Arts at 16 years of age (1983) and, as many students do, spent some of his early years experimenting in different styles, ranging from Taekwon-Do in Mountjoy Square to Kenpo at the Tivoli Centre in Bray. He then changed paths into football, coaching teams from schoolboy level up to League of Ireland. Throughout his football years, he still continued to train in Martial Arts before finally returning to full time Karate training in the mid 90’s. Jimmy has trained under many high grade Instructors both here and abroad and continues to travel to as many courses as possible each year.
After training 4 days a week in the club for over 7 years, he received his 1st Dan in 2004. He followed this with his 2nd Dan in 2007 before passing his 3rd Dan in 2011 and his 4th Dan in late 2014. All his grades are certified by JKF, Japan. In 2016, Jimmy was presented with his 5th Dan (Godan) certificate by Sensei Junior Lefevre Cika World Chief Instructor and President.
Jimmy's list of qualifications are: 5th Dan CIKA, 4th Dan JKF, 3rd Kyu JKF Instructor and 3rd Kyu JKF Examiner.
Jimmy has been an instructor since receiving his 1st Dan and he has trained with many experienced instructors both in Ireland and abroad. He currently holds his ONAKAI WKF Referee’s Licence, NTC coaching cert and TRX Instructor’s cert. He also holds a first aid certificate and has been Garda vetted.
Jimmy is a Chief Instructor with the WKFI.
He has competed at European Level in Kumite and is currently WKFI Kata squad coach.

Adrian started karate in 1984 and trained under Iwasaki Sensei in Gardiner Street in Dublin. Due to business reasons he took break of several years from training but resumed training under Sensei Tyrone Pardue in 1993. After a number of years he changed organisation, whilst remaining a student of Wado karate, and began training under Sensei Derek Desmond in the ALSAA club in Dublin. He also trained with Sensei Oliver Carolan in Senchalstown. He graded for his black belt in 2011 and took Nidan in 2016. Adrian has competed at Irish and European level. As well as being a qualified black-belt, Adrian is also an Irish Sports Council Karate Coach, NCEF Fitness Trainer, NCEF Children’s Exercise Specialist and is garda vetted through the NCEF and ONAKAI. Adrian is a KATA Coach with the WKFI.
Neil began training in Wado-Kai Karate at the age of 6. He received his 1st degree black belt in 2007 at the age of 15 and followed it with his 2nd Dan at the age of 21 in 2012 and now holds 3rd Dan in 2016. He has been an instructor since the age of 18.
Neil has competed in many competitions, both in Ireland and abroad, and has accumulated numerous medals and trophies over the years in both Kata and Kumite. He is also a member of both the ONAKAI national & WKFI squad. Neil's grades are certified by JKF, Japan.
Like Sensei Jimmy Harte, Neil has trained with many instructors including Sensei Danubio, Sensei Shimura, Sensei Takagi, Sensei Nukina, Sensei Sakagami, Sensei Sonodo, Sensei Kohata, Sensei Alexandra Recchia, Sensei Antonio Oliva, Sensei Nishimura, Sensei Junior Lefevre, Sensei Rene Smaal, Sensei Peter May and many more.
Neil is the WKFI Kata Coach along with Oliver Carolan.
